Indiana competitive swimming schedules are packed for a great 2012. The Indiana University Natatorium will be hosting quite a few swim events that residents and guests will want to dive into for a lot of family fun and friendly competition as youth and adults of all ages participate in the year’s swim meets and championships.

With the first month of 2012 more than half way through, swimmers still have the Brefeuf Invite on January 24th and the Circle City Classic scheduled for January 27th thru January 29th.

Indianapolis Women's Half Marathon & 5K

2011 marks the inaugural race Indianapolis Women's Half Marathon & 5K. The start line is on the north side of Monument Circle, just one half block away from our downtown Indy hotel. The race then heads north on Meridian, west on Michigan to tour the IUPUI campus, east back to downtown and then south around Monument Circle. The course continues north on Pennsylvania Street, east on 38th past Indiana State Fairgrounds and south on Fall Creek Parkway. Connecting with Delaware Street, runners will head south with a quick jaunt through the historic Lockerbie neighborhood passing some great Indy landmarks and then finish up on Market Street at the Indianapolis City Market.

Phew! I'm tired just typing all of that!

The Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Downtown is very proud to be the official headquarters hotel of the race and to be a part of this great event!! The Indianapolis Women's Half Marathon & 5K will have many great events in our newly renovated hotel Indianapolis, too. IndyFringe Festival Brings the Unconventional to Life in August

New Fitness Center Coming to the HGI Indianapolis Downtown!

The Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis Downtown is getting a NEW FITNESS CENTER! In preparation for the HGI new standard fitness centers, we have taken out our universal machine. The flooring is scheduled to be installed before next week, too! You know, that bouncy, cushy foam-like flooring you see in nice gyms?

In addition to the flooring, your favorite downtown Indy hotel is replacing our equipment. These treadmills see a lot of miles and it's time we bring in some new work horses to handle the next seven years. Hilton has a standard for Precor fitness equipment. So within the next few weeks or so our equipment will be upgraded to the Precor treadmills, elliptical and bike with the TVs on them for your viewing pleasure!

Indianapolis Museum Of Art Summer Night Film Series

Last Thursday, March 31, market the opening season of Major League Baseball! Indy doesn't have a major league team, but we do have the awesome Indianapolis Indians, our Minor League Baseball team! The Indians are great to watch and there's something special about Victory Field. It has an old charm to it and overlooks the downtown skyline, one of my favorite views of the city. Hot dog and a beer, or soda, on a hot summer night in downtown watching some baseball...there's something about that which just feels good.

If you are coming downtown to support the Indians, or their opposing team, and are looking for hotels near Indianapolis, stay with us! Coming to Indy for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP This Year?

Are you and a group of friends thinking about coming to Indy for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP this year? Or how about your family? This year the Indianapolis Red Bull GP takes place on August 28th. The annual Red Bull Indianapolis GP is a round of the MotoGP World Championship and has taken place annually since 2008.

This round of the most prestigious motorcycle road racing series in the world is on a 16-turn, 2.621-mile road circuit at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, including part of the speedway's famous oval.

There are three World Championship classes that compete at the event:

MotoGP
Moto2
125cc

While other events are paused for rain, the Red Bull Indy GP takes place come rain or shine.
