All Indy citizens and visitors will be happy to know that the historic Lady Victory bronze sculpture, which left our city in April, has now returned home. This 1893 sculpture needed extensive reconditioning and repair. It was removed from Downtown and renovations were completed earlier than it's original anticipated date of October. The Indiana War Memorial Commission oversaw the renovation process.
The historic piece was once again open for public viewing on September 6th. It is now expected to grace our city for at least another 100 years, but this time in a new spot at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Monument Circle. The 38 foot tall sculpture was originally placed in 1893 to honor the military vets from Indiana.
