Drum Corps International World Championships in Indy this August

The drums are beating in preparation for the Drum Corps International World Championships to be held this August 2011 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Competitive drums and bugle corps will descend upon downtown Indy to stage championship performances during this energetic event to be held August 10th through August 13th.

Here are the DCI World Championship events as scheduled this August:

DCI Open Class Individual & Ensemble – August 10, 2011 at the Indiana Convention Center
DCI Kickoff Party & Hall of Fame Induction – August 10, 2011 at Historic Union Station
DCI World Championship Prelims – August 11, 2011 at Lucas Oil Stadium
DCI World Championship Semifinals – August 12, 2011 at Lucas Oil Stadium
DCI World Championship Finals – August 13, 2011 at Lucas Oil Stadium

Drum Corps members are chosen from high school and college age students through a competitive process requiring extensive evaluation, review and qualifications.
