Circle of Lights 50th Anniversary Event Adds Spark to the Holidays

What’s better than the Circle of Lights event in Downtown Indy? The 50th anniversary of this much loved holiday tradition, that’s what!

After having your fill of turkey, stuffing and apple pie on Thanksgiving Day, join thousands of Indy residents and visitors at this special celebration to kick off the special winter season on Friday, November 23, 2012. The Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW 481 put on this joyful gathering each year at Monument Circle when they turn on the holiday lights at the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument. With live shows featuring Santa and his elves, children delight in the toy soldiers, candy, ornaments and trains that decorate the entire area.

The lights shine in all their brilliant glory from the Friday after Thanksgiving until January, and families from all around share every year in this beautiful tradition including the coloring contest for kids. Not to be missed is the talent search audition, which takes place September 25th and September 29th. Visit the Circle of Lights website to learn more about auditions and participation rules.
