March 3-6, 2011 will be four days of 10 demanding basketball games, with the champion becoming the conference’s automatic representative to the NCAA Tournament.
The bracket for the Big Ten Women’s Basketball will be announced on February 27, 2011, the last day of the regular season. The bracket is classified according to the final team standings during the regular season.
The first Big Ten Tournament was held at the Hinkle Fieldhouse in 1995. From 1997 up to 1999, the RCA Dome became the venue of the Big Ten games. The tournament was first held in Conseco Fieldhouse in 2000, yet it was moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2001. The tournament came back to the Conseco Fieldhouse in 2002 and has remained here.
The Big Ten Tournament has welcomed over 450,000 fans and spectators to Indianapolis in the past 16 years, with six different teams being named champions. Purdue is the record holder winning seven championships, four championships ahead of Ohio State with only three.
