There’s definitely something magical about the Indiana Pacers making the 2012 NBA Playoffs, and it isn’t just because they are playing the Orlando Magic.

The first round of the series on Saturday, April 28th found the Pacers a little disheartened with Orlando winning 81 to 77, but their mighty comeback Monday night, April 30th with a 93 to 78 victory tied the series 1 to 1. It’s anyone’s guess who will bring in the win for Game 3 on the evening of May 2nd, but with the Orlando Magic having a home court advantage, the Pacers may be up to the challenge after their latest success on the court.

The individual Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Wrestling State Finals will take place in Indianapolis at the Conseco Fieldhouse on February 18 and 19, 2011.

January 29 is the beginning of the tournament.  The sectionals are divided in to 32 school groups, with the top four winners in each weight class advancing to regionals on February 5.  The top four regional winners will join the semi-state finals on February 12.  The top four in the semi-states will qualify for the finals.

The NCAA Women’s Final Four is one of the most awaited basketball championships in the country.  It is composed of three games that determine the best college women’s basketball team for the conference.

Apart from the games, the NCAA also holds several community activities in Indianapolis.

Several Indianapolis Middle Schools will the venue of the NCAA Middle School Madness.  The classroom curriculum of the Middle School Madness encourages grades six through eight students to learn from the achievements and positive examples of the NCAA athletes.  There will also be a mural and essay contest with the theme “The Power of a Dream.”

The NCAA Pinnacle of Fitness Program will also be held in selected middle schools.  Students are encouraged to participate in a 10-week exercise program leading to the Women’s Final Four Championship.

NCAA Youth Clinics will also be held at the Tourney Town or the Indiana Convention Center.  This is an outreach program that gives young boys and girls the opportunity to grow in sports.

A thousand volunteers will be recruited by the Indianapolis Hosting Committee to assist in welcoming fans, facilitate in ancillary and community events and in guiding VIPs.
