Professional photographers recently came to the hotel to take pictures of the extensive renovation to our historic 1915 building. In case you didn't realize, the

Lady Victory, the 38' tall bronze sculpture who has sat on top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument since 1893, returns to her spot overlooking the city, 284 feet above ground. Victory was removed in the spring time and split into four pieces so she could be restored to her original grandeur. Crews tried to place her atop the Monument last Tuesday through Friday but Mother Nature would not cooperate with unfavorable wind conditions.
Lady Victory was standing in the northwest quad of Monument Circle for four days before workers attempted putting her back up. This was the first time in 117 years people could get close to her. Traffic just around the Circle from our three star hotel downtown Indianapolis was backed up while residents and visitors stopped to take photos. None of mine turned out very well.
The symphony will also host their special Happy Hour with Time for Three so symphony goers will not want to miss this extraordinary evening. The performance will feature favorite compositions written by John Stafford Smith, Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Everly, Bernstein, Berlin and Monti. In addition to their performances, the Indy Symphony offers various student programs and workshops. The organization pioneered the Arts Everyday feature for 2300 elementary school students every year. Funds raised help to educate and bring the arts to inner city youth. For ticketing information, be sure to call the Symphony Box Office at (317) 639-4300. Group discount information can be obtained from Jeff Johnson at (317) 231-6788.
Christmas in July? Yes, please! Now is the time of year when all you planners out there are thinking toward planning holiday parties for your company, organization or family. The heat index yesterday was 113 degrees in downtown Indianapolis, so to cool down a bit I'm thinking of winter also. But let's not rush it...

2011 marks the inaugural race

WWE Raw - Road to WrestleMania is returning to Indianapolis on Sunday, March 27! Tickets start at only $15 and go up to $65...pretty affordable in today's economy, if you ask me. I've been to many a concert at Conseco Fieldhouse and though it's not my favorite venue in town, I've sat in the nosebleeds and could still see just fine! (No, really. If I walked up three rows I could touch the ceiling.)
