How many times do start off a blog post with something like, "In my effort to save you some cash..."?  Well, here's another one.  In my effort to save you some cash, I thought I'd write about this idea I surfed upon on Indianapolis Downtown, Inc.'s website:

50 Date Ideas Under $50!!!!

The ideas range in price from FREE to Under $25 and Under $50.  Our green hotel Indianapolis is right in the center of it all and ready to help you save some money!  Here are some of my FREE favorites (some modified based on my own experience):

• Outdoor Concerts on the Canal
• Indianapolis Museum of Art admission
• Sit outside of the fence at The Lawn at White River State Park to hear the music, but not see it.
• IDADA's First Fridays on Mass Ave
• Bike ride along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail

Some of my Under $25 favorites:

• Indianapolis Indians baseball game at Victory Field
• Take a salsa class at IntoSalsa Latin Dance Studio
• McCormick & Schmick's happy hour
• Biergarten at The Rathskeller
• Guided tour of Garfield Park Conservatory

And the Under $50 faves:

• Beer or wine taste at SunKing, Easley Winery and Rock Bottom
• See a play at Indiana Repertory Theatre
• Burlesque show at White Rabbit Cabaret
• Get classical at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra
• Use IDI's Farm to Table Guide to buy some local produce and then cook together

I've only done six of the 15 on my list...but I hope to experience more of Indy.  I just signed a lease for 18 months so I'm sure I'll be around to see and do more!
