Indy continues to remain strong with Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano as he begins his second round of chemotherapy and continues to win his battle against leukemia. Doctors say that Pagano’s white blood cell count is normal and he is in currently in remission. The team and interim coach Bruce Arians are hopeful that he will return to the field for the final home game on Sunday, December 30 against Houston.
Pagano was diagnosed with a form of leukemia in September and has been absent from all games since his diagnosis. He has had very little contact with other people due to his weakened immune system as a result of undergoing chemotherapy, but did make it out to talk to his team during a game against the Miami Dolphins on November 4.
Several members of the team shaved their heads in support of Pagano on November 7, and those who didn’t colored their hair. Banners with the saying #Chuckstrong hang in each end zone of the Lucas Oil Stadium as a sign of support from the rest of Indy as well.
If you are interested in visiting Indianapolis for Pagano’s potential return to the final game or to show your support for Arians and the players before then, the Indianapolis Hilton Garden Inn is one of many hotels near Lucas Oil Stadium provides convenient and affordable accommodations. Make reservations with an Indianapolis downtown hotel and show that you, too, are #Chuckstrong.

The Indianapolis Hilton Garden Inn has always been dedicated to providing excellent hotel accommodations Indianapolis. We continually update and renovate our facilities in the best interests of our customers, and our latest project proves to be no exception.
That’s right, the Hilton Garden Inn Indy has exciting news: we will be welcoming a brand new addition next year! After remaining vacant since the hotel’s opening in 2003, the 16th floor of the hotel is being renovated into suites. The floor will become home to seven large suites and one grand suite, all designed to make your stay at the Indianapolis downtown hotel even more enjoyable. Most details are still forthcoming (sketches, renderings, and design boards are currently in the making), but the rooms are unofficially named the Fletcher Suites after the historic building’s origin: the Fletcher Savings and Trust Building.
The estimated time of completion is spring 2013, at which time the suites will be available to reserve through all usual channels (online, hotel phone, and Hilton reservations). Follow the renovation progress on the hotel’s Facebook page and, upon completion, be sure to see for yourself what all the fuss is about and book a room at the newly renovated hotel Indianapolis.

Indiana is undoubtedly a state dedicated to and known for its love of basketball. After all, Indy will be hosting the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship Regional March 29 & 31. However, if basketball is not your thing, there’s no need to worry; plenty of fun takes place off the basketball court during an Indy March as well. Another sporting event Indy is simply mad about is swimming. Indianapolis will play host to the NCAA Division 1 Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.
Located only two miles away from the historic hotel Indianapolis Hilton Garden Inn, the Championships are a perfect event to enjoy during a relaxing weekend getaway in downtown Indy. Cheer on your favorite swimmer and then unwind in the spacious accommodations of the Hilton Garden Inn.
With two different sporting options as well as an Indianapolis downtown hotel waiting for you at the end of the event, there clearly is no other place to be during March than the heart of Indianapolis. Make hotel reservations Indianapolis as soon as possible to celebrate March Madness in true Indy fashion.

There’s a special event that started in 2010 and took place just recently here in 2012. Twenty-four Australian and American men and women joined together to show support and respect for the honor, and sacrifice made by our military and emergency responders while also remembering the tragic events of 9/11 and celebrating the alliance between Australia and the United States.
This group’s mission is to call to remembrance both of our nations’ commitments to freedom and peace while also celebrating those who serve their communities and countries. The name of this happening is the Tour of Duty Ride 2012, and their plan united members of military, police and fire department personnel to journey together across this beautiful land from San Diego all the way to New York City from August 12th to September 10th.
We had the honor of meeting them when they stayed in our Indianapolis downtown hotel in August during one leg of their ride from Louisville to Indianapolis. And we have to say this is an amazing group of individuals representing and serving their countries in a way that makes us all proud.
Their effort raises funds to support the widows and children of NYC police and fire departments as well as the Wounded Warrior project. If you would like to learn more about their inspiring and charitable team, please visit their website or Facebook page.
We hope to see them again next year in our beautiful city. For those planning a visit to Indy, make sure to check our website for Indianapolis hotel packages. We even offer special pricing for Indianapolis group travel and know you’ll enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed the Tour of Duty team’s visit with us!
