For two days of cheer and dance, there’s nothing like the World Spirit Federation (WSF) Indy Showdown. This weekend event serves as the world bid qualifying event for entry into the largest national championships in the United States.
The cheer and dance championship will be held December 8th and 9th in the Indianapolis Convention Center in Downtown Indy, and discounted early registration is presently available on the WSF website or by phone.

Downtown Indy will be moving to the beat when the Drum Corps International visits the city for its annual Drum Corps World Championship 2012. The weeklong festivities kick off on August 6th and end on August 11th to bring the Drum Corps version of marching music to Indy.

Beginning fall 2012, Butler University sports teams will be saying goodbye to the Horizon League. Teams will be moving to the Atlantic 10 conference a year ahead of schedule.
In the competitive sports of soccer, volleyball and cross country, the teams for both women and men will play in fall for the Atlantic 10 league. Part of the show is televised and the lighting of the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument occurs at 7:45 p.m. Central Standard Time. One lucky child is chosen from the statewide coloring contest to help flip the light switch with the Indianapolis mayor and Santa Clause.
